2081 – A Movie Based On Harrison Bergeron
When Snapcase released their 1997 album Progression Through Unlearning, a song on that album really intrigued me. The name of the song was “Harrison Bergeron.” My interest in this song led me to a short story of the same name written by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. in 1981. Harrison Bergeron is one of the most fascinating short stories I have ever read, revealing a dystopian future where all people are created equal, and the extraordinary are made handicapped by law.
I had recently stumbled upon a trailer for an upcoming movie called 2081, based on Harrison Bergeron. Not only is the trailer very compelling, but it also features some actual lines from the short story. There is currently no information about the movie on IMDB, nor is there much information out there about this movie on the web. You can learn more about the movie on the official site. So far, no release date has been announced.
